The Dakota People’s Experience in Manitoba

chief-darcy-bearOn September 19, 2012 Chief Darcy Bear from the Whitecap Dakota First Nation in Saskatchewan joined a panel presentation: The Dakota People’s Experience in Canada. Hosted by the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg, the discussion included:

  • Treaty relations between the Dakota, Crown and other First Nations;
  • Territorial and resource rights;
  • The Minnesota Conflict; and
  • Oral history.
